BRESCIA, Italy - Denver

Italy with Jeff Starke of the International Master Bike Builders
Association to present a lifetime achievement award to Italian bike
builder Fabrizio “Sugar” Favre.
The
IMBBA, based in the United States, has been organizing builders
worldwide for more than five years, and periodically singles out top
master bike builders for world recognition.
This
event also formalized the partnership between FIC and IMBBA that
was announced at Faaker See, Europe's biggest bike rally. "This
agreement will open up international opportunities," said Favre. "We
hope to bring other European member nations onboard, and we look forward
to competing as a national team in a world competition in 2012 in
Canada."
"I am honored to be included in the Hall of Fame, and honored to have met Mondo Porras and Jeff Starke, two great men."
"I
would like also to thank the Kustom People Show organizers, who have
shown great interest in the development of custom artistry within the
industry."
Fabrizio Favre,
affectionately known as "Sugar" due to his agreeable nature, was born
on July 6, 1958 in Ivrea in north western Italy, where he first became
an expert VW car customizer in his father's business. He established his
own motorcycle fabrication company, "Tutto Guzzi Favre,"
which became "Favre Motorcycle" and is now operated by his son as
"Favre RMB Custom Surgery."
Fabrizio fell
in love with motorcycles as a teenager. His first bike was a 50cc
replica Captain America chopper. At age 18, he graduated to a 1200 cc
Harley Electra Glide.

owner of Denver’s Choppers, started building custom bikes with his
partner Denver Mullins in San Bernardino, CA in 1967 and was inducted
into the International Master Bike Builder Association's Hall of Fame
during the 2010 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Denver’s Choppers
became famous worldwide in the early 1970’s. They were instrumental in
starting the after market industry that is florishing today with custom
parts including frames,
custom choppers and springer front ends. Denver's Choppers was the
first company to manufacture the long down tube stretch frames that are
in vogue today.
Jeff
Starke, president of the IMBBA, also presented certification awards to
several Italian builders during the Kustom People Show:
Bori Giuseppe of Bepy Motor Service - Bike Builder II

Fabrizio Farve, President of FIC
International Partnership, Italy & IMBBA
October
17th 2010, at the People's Kustom Bike Show event, IMBBA, President,
Jeff Starke, along with IMBBA, "Hall of Fame" Mondo Porras, arrived
It Brescia, Italy and received a welcoming fit for traveling
dignitaries. With accommodations, salutations from start to finish that
left IMBBA president to complain during the ceremony that "Italy
won't let me pay for anything" FIC President Fabrizio
Favre, FIC Vice President Jerry Caronte, FIC Secretary Roberto Totti and
more than 30 members of the FIC, representing the Italian bike building
industry, embraced and welcomed IMBBA. With a celebrity in
road racing, "Barry Rivellini" as the interrupter no
barriers in language was experienced. "Barry's ability to translate
even complicated engineering terms and descriptions was a compliment to
Italy’s expertise in motorcycles and designs" said, Jeff
Sarke. In a demonstration to FIC
and members, Jeff Starke demonstrated the skills and procedures on the
proper way to judge a motorcycle in Bike show competition style that
brought about crowds of knowledge seekers to watch how it is done. Then
IMBBA president received a round of applause for the clarity and
demonstration. "This is further proof that the IMBBA
points system that judges on the basis of Fit, Form, Function
and Safety is gaining momentum among world class builders,
riders and bike owners as a fair and impartial process to recognize
motorcycles that are built properly, and as a way to identify quality
bike builders and skilled tradesmen." From arrival to departure. The
motorcycle riders, builders, and enthusiasts of Italy demonstrated a
brotherhood of riding and in the spirit of Italian style! At one point,
Mondo Porras, Denver’s Choppers and IMBBA Hall of Fame, commented to say
that "I observed in the 80-90's that Europe embraced
the American life style and expression of bike building to the
point of America exporting its parts and accessories all over Europe, It
was a pleasure to revisit a time gone by that is now rejuvenated and
lives on in Europe. It was like remembering a wonderful time in the past
when we really rode these bikes and fixed everything our self’s".
IMBBA
would like to extend its gratitude and apprciation to the FIC members,
builders, family and People's Kustom representatives for a wonderful
expereince and welcome! See you in Vernoa!
